Thesis for Master degree in Architecture _ Tesi della Specialistica in Architettura

Thesis for Master degree in Architecture _ Year 5.
Tesi della Specialistica in Architettura

Thesis in Low Energy Low Cost in Social Housing.
The first part of the thesis was a deep analysis in building materials, types of construction and building solution on over 80 case studies. The projects were evaluated based on various bioclimatic-environmental factors: passive bioclimatical, environmental comfort, eco-efficiency in the use of the resources, aspects of the eco-process.
The second part of the thesis proposes a low cost low energy architectural solution taking into consideration all the fazes of the building construction and life-span.

Render Thesis Bachelor _ Render Tesi Triennale

Renders from my Thesis "Library in Pigneto, Rome"
Here are some renders from my thesis of the Bachelor Degree. The project is a library/mediatheque in the area of Pigneto in Rome, Italy. The building consists of a main cube containing the mediatheque functions such as a computer room, childrens interaction area, cinema and conference room. This part of the building is covered with semi-transparent panels containing writing in different languages, allowing a soft light to enter the building. The Library part, on the other hand is a slightly bended boomerang shape that penetrates the mediatheque cube. The material is characterized by moving breisoleil that react depending on the position of the sun and its' intensity, preventing the building to get overheated in the warm months of the year. The main wind directions have been studied and shallow ponds of water have been placed in the areas of the prevailing wind, cooling the surrounding walking areas as well as the surface of the building.
An opening in correspondence to the stairway and entrance allows the light and to flow throughout the reception and the rest of the building.
Openings are strategically placed in order to create a natural flow of air inside the building.

Workshop of Landscape and Garden Design _ Laboratorio del Paesaggio e Giardini

Workshop of Landscape and Garden Design. 3rd year.
Laboratorio del paesaggio e giardini.
" Environmental design project of an urban park".
"Progettazione ambientale di un parco urbano".

This was an optional course done in the last year of the bachelor degree. I wanted to integrate some landscape design courses into my architecture degree. This course was led by the renowned professor Fabrizio Tucci.
The course was aimed to deepen the knowledge in environmental design analysing aspects such as: natural morphology, wind direction and strength, hydraulical, antropical, solar. Also a deepened analysis of existing vegetation and possible integration of ecologicaly indigenous vegetation, also taking in consideration the bioclimatic aspects.

Tecnologie Sperimentali _ Experimental Technology

Experimental Technology. 4th year.

In this course we learn about environmental technologies and their use in urban development. The course aims to integrate design with innovative systems of environmental sustainability, the waterfront of Porto Ercole, Monte Argentario council in the region of Toscana.
Critical analisis was done on the enviromental aspects and how these could be used in the project in a bioclimatical and ecosustainable way.
The project focuses on setting up and developing a master plan on an urban scale, through the integration of experimental technologies, related to energy production, waste disposal, use of water resources, etc.
The purpose of the proposed design is an efficient system that is able to understand the functions and different types of use of the waterfront.
